Hi, I'm Lisa.

I’m a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) and Master Certified Coach through The Life Coach School. I’m currently completing postgraduate training in psycho-oncology through the University of Basel and Swiss Cancer League.

I created Do Cancer Better to help people navigate the parts of cancer that don’t fit neatly into a medical appointment: the fear, decisions, relationships, boundaries, endless opinions from other people, and figuring out what you actually want when cancer suddenly takes up far too much space in your life.

My work is practical. I help people advocate for themselves, communicate clearly, make decisions that reflect what matters to them, manage the mental and emotional load of cancer, and find their footing during and after treatment.

Feel confident with Cancer

Why Cancer?

I haven’t had cancer myself.

Do Cancer Better began because people I loved did.

My dad had cancer, and two of my best friends, Nicole and Caroline, were diagnosed as young adults. Being close to cancer showed me how much happens outside the medical side of treatment. Someone can have excellent doctors and still be overwhelmed by fear, decisions, changing relationships, work, family, identity and the pressure to somehow handle all of it well.

Nicole had an extraordinary ability to acknowledge that cancer was awful without allowing it to become the only thing happening in her life.

She taught me something that became the foundation of Do Cancer Better: cancer gets to be part of your life. It doesn’t automatically get all of it.

Think Better with Cancer

Why Coaching?

My route here hasn’t been particularly conventional.

Before becoming a coach, I trained and worked professionally as a classical singer in Europe, later earned an MSc in Business Administration, and built a career working across cultures, languages and very different professional environments.

I eventually trained as a life coach and earned the highest certification offered by The Life Coach School. Wanting a stronger foundation in health and behavior change led me to further training through Duke Health & Well-Being and certification by the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching.

Today, I’m continuing that education with postgraduate training in psycho-oncology through the University of Basel and Swiss Cancer League.

Each part of my background has shaped the way I work, but the goal has stayed remarkably simple: helping people think clearly, trust themselves and make their own decisions when life gets complicated.

Improve relationships with cancer

What is do Cancer Better?

Do Cancer Better is my cancer-focused coaching and education platform.

I’ve used it to develop coaching programs, practical resources, courses and a growing library of tools for younger adults navigating cancer.

You’ll find resources here on self-advocacy, boundaries, decision-making, relationships, emotions and life during and after treatment.

This isn’t medical care or psychotherapy, and I don’t tell people what medical decisions to make. Your medical team handles your cancer treatment. My job is different.

I help you handle the human part.

Are you ready to do Cancer better?
